Millefiori and Murrini Pendants

One area I've been experimenting with is Millefiori and Murrini. Below are some of the Millefiori and Murrini pendants that I've mad over the last year. Unfortunately, I have not gotten around to photographing most of my favorite pieces that I have made. They are similar to a few below.

I get most of my Millefiori from Murano Millefiori (http://www.muranomillefiori.com/). I've recently started trying to make handmade Murrini (both fused from glass stringers or made at the torch).

The above pendant is made from various sizes of Flower and star Millefiori with a yellow/blue/white color theme.

The above pendant is made from small pieces of filigrana glass rods (rods that have a color center that is encased in clear). The peices were cast in an oval pendant mold. I've have a blue/green/pink filigrana circle pedant that is similar to this that I wear frequently.

The above pendant was made from Marmo Mille (also know as road map millefiori).

The above pendant was also made from Marmo Mille.

The above pendant was made from a white/transparent teal bullseye Millefiori.

The above pedant is one of my 1st attempts at creating Murrini using a Murrini mold and stringers. I fused the transparent blue and white stringer into a rod and then cut the rod into peices of murrini. I then used the murrini like millefiori & created this pendant.

The above pendant is another one made with Marmo Mille. I really liked this style of Marmo Mille. I have a teardrop shaped pendant that is similar to this that is one of my favorites.

The above pedant is made from another attempt at making murrini. In this pedant I used Ivory with a teal blue and green that reacts with Ivory. That reaction created the black/silver edging between the colors and the Ivory. I have seen/used that reaction in some glass beads and was happy to see that it would occur in the kiln as well. I've made myself a Ivory and green pendant that is similar to this.

The above pendant was made from a transparent blue and transparent green millefiori that was similar to the Marmo Mille.

The above pendant was also made with Marmo Millie.

The above pendant is a transparent green/white millefiori with clear on top. The center millefiori also has some transparent yellow in it.

The above pendant is made from a red/white/blue bullseye millefiori.

The above pendant is made from handmade murrini. The Murrini was made by fusing white and green adventuring stringers. I've made a purple and white similar to this for myself.

The above pendant was made from white/ black/transparent blue geometric Millefiori with a clear top. I have also made a teardrop shaped pendant that is similar to this that is one of my favorites to wear.
